Middlebury Family Fun

This past weekend Aaron, Noah and I went up to visit his family in Middlebury, IN. near Michigan. His mom and grandma had flown in from Albuquerque so we picked them up on the way and we all stayed with Aaron's sister Mary! We had so much fun and it was the first time his mom and grandma had seen me pregnant at all and Mary had only seen me when I was like 8 weeks along so everyone was touching my stomach all weekend waiting for Noah to kick..and they didn't have to wait long, our little David Beckham is proud of his kicks! We had fun playing with Jeremiah who is getting soooo big and fun, going out to the Amish country, fishing, and getting some yummies from the bulk amish store which is always fun! Oh my goodness, let me tell you..I had never noticed it until this time because I do cakes that the Amish bulk store is THE BEST place to stock up on decorations! I got loads of sprinkles and dragees (little edible pearls) in pearl, silver, and gold. Now I'm super anxious to make a PRETTY cake..because I have been gettting a lot of orders for "fun" cakes" I am ready for a romantic feel. I may just have to wait until me and Aaron's anniversary to make one...unless i get an order :) I really want to do a black and white damaske cake..if you know me you know I love vintage feels and damaske is vintage but sooo elegant. If i could make any wedding cake that is what it would be adorned with edible red roses and pearls...ahhh a day in my brain thinking up cakes..haha Here are some pictures from the trip!

O.K. so Jeremiah didn't really want a picture...but he's still cute!

Custom Cakery/Funky Birthday Cake/ Bright Green and Pink

This weekend I made a special birthday cake! It was for a young lady turning 13 yrs. old...I was told she loves bright green and pink..as well as white guitars..so here is what I came up with!! She was so suprised to get it it was awesome!

Details:

  • Two tier fondant covered cake and all accents edible
  • Flavors: top tier was red velved with a french vanilla layer in between and the filling was buttercream and chopped pecans (yumm) bottom tier was dark chocolate with the french vanilla layer in between with alternating buttercream and chocolate geneche also very yummy!
  • The fondant is adorned with white gerber daisies, an edible white guitar, and the birthday girls name that wrapped around the cake (which you can't see all in one view..long name! hehe)
  • Feeds: between 20 and 25 (depending on serving size)

Custom Cakery Cupcake Bites

So I also made some cupcake bites for this weekend! I originally had them as cupcake lollipops but then realized I didn't have any treat bags to wrap them in for delivery so in turn they became bites :) These were dark chocolate and red velvet to go along with the cake order

Baby Anxious

I cannot tell you how strange it it but after knowing that our baby IS Noah..it's like the anticipation level went crazy...there are just so many things I want to know...what he'll look like, his personality, everything!! And being around babies makes me even more anxious...this morning at church I was holding little Abigail and was just overwhelmed by how much I'm loving Noah now and how much more it will be when I hold him for the first time.

In other news not so serious...I'm really excited about Custom Cakery taking off :0
I have another cake this weekend and they are so stinkin sweet they are driving over an hour to pick up their cake from me for their daughter who is turning 13!! How awesome. This cake is gonna be sooooo funky! She loves bright green and pink so One tier is going to be green the other pink and she loves white guitars so I'll mold one and add that. Also I'm going to mold out her name is black letters and make white polka dots all over them. The top tier is going to be fun polka dots and the bottom will be striped with some white gerber daisies randomly on there..sounds like a lot huh?? haha I cannot wait!! Oh and I'm going to make some cupcake pops this weekend too so you guys can see..they are adorable :)

Boy or girl? that was the question...

FINALLY we found out today that we are indeed having a little BOY!!! Mom and dad got to go with us this morning to see the sonogram...and they were both so excited! Last night aaron and i got ZERO sleep being so anxious and praying that we could see. When we got there he was laying on his belly and after some prodding he rolled over and as dad said "showed the goods" haha...So we are for sure it is a little baby boy in there...little baby noah benjamin! RIGHT after the apt. we did exactly what i said..drove to evansville and went shopping :) I found very very very cute boy stuff..i raided baby gap and the carters section of babys'r'us..haha it was awesome! and since mom didn't get to go i get to take another trip on thursday whoo hooo!

I also got to finish my birthday shopping which included clothes and some cake stuff i had really been wanting..including BABY cookie cutouts :) this stuff will def. come in handy seeing as i have a lot of cakery coming up soon

off for now...noahs kickin and im gonna see if he'll keep it up for mom and dad to feel..he always seems to stop if anyone besides me or aaron touches my belly haha
